Where Waters Rest
05:44
|
|||
I was given no warning when the storm broke my mind like a god of vengeance
And there was naught that I could do to keep myself afloat
I am drifting behind the paths
Or below
I do not know
Let us sail where the waters rest
You once took me there
In dead confusion I saw the coast from which I came
Others have drowned and never returned
Their songs are still clearly heard
Into the deep we dive
All lights are left behind
This journey is not the first for me
These walls, I recall, are old
Above an echo rings
One born on skeletal wings

The Road to Nothing
05:04
|
|||
I cannot see
I cannot hear
I cannot grasp what is no longer there
The days are bleak
The spark is lost
That which we knew is abandoned and dread is the cost
I cannot see
I cannot hear
I cannot grasp the powers at play
One will resigned
Twice did it fight
All desire had faded
This path has been deserted and the walls have crumbled
Those who walked here have left

These flowers grow and bloom as we die
Delicate and pale they feed on us
Your hopes are now their soil
Your sins are now their smell
This sprawling city is open to all of us
Visitors are encouraged to stay
These bones are bleached and dry
This dust is cold and white

When Skeletons Sing
04:01
|
|||
(The drums were silent
Only echoes remained)
The choir had left the scene
The vulture was now my companion
He said, "gather a host & wage war so I may feast!"
(The drums were beating
Skeletons sang)
So I did and we rejoiced
Choirs grew and wailed in concert
And he said, "glory be to the dead! sing with me!"

Drown in the Unknown
04:14
|
|||
Tell me how this has come to be
Shades of grey are now all I see
Truth be told, I am at a loss
You may want to embrace more than one thought
Someone said
Unknown to me
It is
I did not wish for this
But now it must remain
There are those who wait
And I must know

Bloody Repentance
05:29
|
|||
You and I are both likely to fall and die within a scant amount of time
Let us close the books on these unfortunate events
For which I am somewhat to blame
My revenge had its fill when I drew your blood for the 100th time
Your misdeeds repaid in full
Wings of light descended upon me and I forgave you

Towers
03:39
|
|||
There are stones and dust and ashes ahead
These plains are clad in grey
Only broken by the shadows cast by the towers above
We have fought here many times before
Noone remembers why
But we will continue to conquer
For that is our quest and all we know
We are all searching for something that has been lost
They want power
I desire purpose
Their goal is within reach but mine lies in ruins
|
||||

Regression marks my path
Regret rears its head
The old is renewed
The past is remade
Fortune lies buried here
Trampled under foot
By those who forgot
Like you and I
I have never been this far out upon the open plains
Memories are strewn about like discarded lives
One of these is known to me and needs to be remembered

A Sepulchral Theme
04:33
|
|||
18 kings sang a song to their own glory
The assassin forgot the name of his kill
Nothing happened on the lonely hill where wolves had plied their trade
An emperor hesitated and lost all power
A tree fell and was heard by none
4 children found the lake where time does not pass
Deals were made behind the scene
Sorrow provided a common theme
The lost wandered uncharted plains and desired not to be found

A Bag of Tricks
04:54
|
|||
Do not heed the words that are spoken in haste
Look to your left and sigh
Applaud while I pull a smiling corpse from my hat
This night smells like falling rain
The black cart will take you where I want it to go
Never cross this bridge, it is guarded by wolves and kings
9 complaints were filed by those who lost their lives
By any means, keep your wits about you
The dead are leading the dying through the forest of the impaled
